Grasp the opportunities in the development of the Chinese General Aviation Manufacturing Industry

"Apart from striving to produce our large aircrafts, we must also dedicate focus to medium-size aircrafts and helicopters”
- Mr. Wen Jiabao, Chinese Prime Minister

Conference brief:

General aviation is an important aspect of the civil aviation industry, which is an essential factor in the development of the economy and public services. In pursuit of being a major international aviation player, it is vital that general aviation manufacturing and operations are developed rapidly.

Although China is ranked second highest in the world in the aviation transportation industry, we are however, lagging behind in aircraft design and construction. With major growth in the economy, there is a dramatic increase of demand in the market. Investors have plentiful opportunities within general aviation as the Chinese general aviation industry has tremendous potential.
In 2007, the Civil Aviation Administration of China announced new policy for general aviation in the north-east of China. Meanwhile, more relaxed regulations will be introduced. Recently, the Chinese aviation authority released new policy on the lower airspace, which has been implemented in 2008, meaning the general aviation market must make fundamental changes. Along with low manufacturing costs, the future prospects of the aviation industry are excellent.

The development and success of Chinese Aviation design and construction will inevitably lead to higher demand domestically, and in time internationally too. Currently, Chinese made aircraft represent only 42.7% of the nations fleet, with Chinese helicopters taking only a 2.4% share of the domestic market. Higher quality, more technologically advanced aircraft with an improved working life mean the Chinese Aviation Industry will grow very significantly and quickly.
