Capt. Denis Murphy, CEO, Murphy Intl.

"Keeping Your Head Above Water When Your Aircraft Isn't"

Featuring a live demonstration and deployment of a life-raft, life vest, and smoke hook. Captain Murphy is a professional Aviator/Author of "PAN,PAN,PAN! A Survivor’s Story". His book has being featured at the prestigious Miami International Book Fair in Miami, Florida as well as Air Venture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Sun-n-Fun in Lakeland, Florida and Canada. His dramatic survival story at sea has also been featured in the book "True Pilots Stories" which he help co-author. His third book "The Pilots Bahamas Pocket Book" has sold over 10,000 copies to avid aviators.
Capt. Murphy is an ATP pilot and has flown over 50 different types of airplanes, from the L-39 to Piper Cub. Recipient of the National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. His presentation and movie of an actual airplane ditching off the coast of Denmark brings home that the selection of emergency equipment and how being prepared for a ditching is a crucial survival tool.

Mr. Randy Boone, President, Aviation Survival Technologies

"Overwater Survival Policy"

"If you don't have it on you, you won't have it with you". It is statically proven fact that in a traumatic situation such as water ditching, your number one objective will be to escape or egress from the sinking aircraft. The chances that you will start fumbling around the interior of a ditched aircraft to grab survival equipment are very unlikely.

Mr. Randy Boone ASMCS, U.S. Coast Guard (Retired Aviation Survival Technologist 1996 to present) President and owner of Aviation Survival Technologies.

Military Career
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter (Icebreaker) Glacier/WAGB-4- Antarctica Deepfreeze 1974-1975.
U.S. Coast Guard Small Boat Unit, St. Louis, MO.
Mississippi River Search and Rescue Team.
Aviation Survival man School, USN Lakehurst, N.J.

Randy Boone retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1996 as a Senior Chief Aviation Survival man. Shortly thereafter, he started his company, Aviation Survival Technologies.
With over four-thousand hours as a U.S. Coast Guard Aircrew member aboard C-130s and HU-25A aircraft and firsthand experience searching for persons in the water, Randy has designed a wearable survival pouch that allows general aviation pilots to have a means to signal searching aircraft after a water ditching and egress.
The AST Over-water Survival Pouch has been featured in the Aviation Safety Magazine (March 2009), and the Aviation Consumer Magazine in March 2006 and was rated “best choice” in its class of small over-water survival kits.
Randy’s speaking engagements include:
Guest Speaker -The International Association for Sea Survival Training, Houston TX. Oct. 10-11 1996 – Aviation Rescue Resources
Guest Speaker - International Helicopter Safety Conference, University of South western Louisiana, May 1996
Various Forums at AOPA Sun & Fun and EAA Air Venture, Oshkosh
Staff Survival Instructor, Cayman Caravan Inc. 1995- 2006
Guest Speaker, Naples Maine Seaplane Safety Seminar, June 2006
Survival Instructor, McMillan Offshore Survival Training, Belfast Maine

Randy has been the water survival "guru" for the Cayman Caravan for the past sixteen years. He has conducted seminars for well over 1,000 general aviation pilots who were about to depart Key West for a flight over Cuba to the Cayman Islands.
The combination of his general aviation experience and Coast Guard background make him uniquely qualified as a bona fide expert in light aircraft over-water operations.
The AST Overwater Survival Pouch is a direct result of Randy's understanding of the cockpit environment as well as the survival environment. When I fly over water, I am wearing the AST Overwater Survival Pouch.
